Frequently asked questions
How do I install it?
Download the file for your platform and open it. On Windows, run the .exe and follow the one-click installer. On macOS, open the .dmg and drag Quill to Applications. Sign in on first launch.
Does it update automatically?
Yes. The app checks for updates in the background and prompts you to restart when one is ready. Security and clinical-safety updates are applied automatically on next launch.
Which Mac build do I need?
Click the Apple menu → About This Mac. If the chip says “Apple M1/M2/M3/M4”, choose Apple Silicon. If it shows an “Intel” processor, choose Intel. The page recommends the most likely option, but both are always available.
Is my data private?
Audio is streamed for transcription then discarded — only the verbatim transcript is kept. Data is processed in the UK/EU. Nothing clinical is stored on your device. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.
